A slight pain in the..

Filed under: Run — Shiz @ 2:06 pm

Alright, I’m down to a 4 month countdown to the LA Marathon. I’ve hit a slight problem… my damn right knee. I ran a 14 miler a few weeks ago that just about killed it (altho I speculate it was more from our dancing in Vegas) and with 2 Sat’s off (due to a damned cold) and a knee brace I thought it would get better..

short run yesterday of 8 miles and was paying for it last night… guess I’ll be visiting the physical therapists this week…..

Yes, I do change my underwear

Once upon a time Shiz had a job, and a paycheck every month. Shiz had weekends to vegetate, to knit, to tend to her plants. Evenings were spent bitching about work, eating out or cooking. She would take care in getting dressed every morning, washing abd blow-drying her hair, clothes that matched her mood and jewelry to compliment, even on the weekends.

Now, Shiz has no life, outside of school anyway. Evenings are spent in group work, vending machines or the 10E traffic. Weekends are spent on projects, readings, and other projects such as tutoring, and a campus greening project. The long-awaited December break will be spent on a paper on CSR co-authoring with a Prof. She gets dressed for class, mostly in jeans now, but has a more regimented weekend attire - sweats (big baggy old sweats) and a ponytail. What she really wants her neighbors who see her on a daily basis to know is that she really isn’t a bum.

Strangest Dreams

Filed under: Random — Shiz @ 10:48 pm

I have the strangest dreams sometimes… although this one might have been brought on by the food coma that ensued after the Thanksgiving meal.

My friends from school and I were pilots (but I don’t remember the flying part) and we are hopping from one city to the next - we were in Austin Texas, somewhere in Mexico, Italy and we get to actually stop and visit the city. Some places I don’t know what they’re saying (Italy) and other places there’s lots of people and what I remember most is the sheer excitement of it all.

I really must have been grinding my teeth heavily last night… all those creative juices were flowing!
