New Favorites

Filed under: The *W* Issue — Shiz @ 6:15 pm

My new favorite snacks for the new year (and Weight Watchers friendly too!)

1. Safeway Select Clear, Sugar Free, Caffeine Free, Sodium Free, Sparking water beverage
2. Baked Cheetos
3. Clif Bars - instead of buying the WW bars, I buy these for $.99 at Trader Joes, and cut them in half. This makes two, 2 pt bars which taste great. Try the Apple Caramel Cobbler flavor, its super yummy!

I also signed up for the online resources through the WW’s site which supplements the weekly meetings - I bit the bullet because of the neat PDA program they have which helps you journal (probably my biggest vice). It has a nice food search mechanism and points calculator. Online you have access to all the menus (which means no buying their cookbooks!) which I print out and put them in a neat binder. A lot of the recipes are really tasty (i.e. boyfriend eats them). I’ve been attending now for almost 2 years, and I can’t afford to putz around any longer.

Do any of you readers have good suggestions for snacks and foods? :)
Update - I can no longer buy the Weight Watchers Blueberry Cereal. It was so good I ate the entire box in less than 24 hours.

    are baked cheetos good?

  2. shiz Says:

Yes! They are actually quite good. I’m the person who drools when I see an empty cheetos bag when I walk my dog….. and this is tasty enough and light enough that I can enjoy and not feel guilty! :)

me too. love the cheetos. but not those nasty trick ones that turn your tongue green. sick.

Don’t forget those Light Ruffles! They are SO good…they are crispier than the regular ones.

We bought a BOX of those caramel apple cobbler Clif bars since they’re seasonal! They will last a LONG time…

    Miss you already!

Well, my nutritionist/personal trainer husband says apples, peaches, plums actually take more calories to digest than they add, and the sugar may avert a bad craving or low blood sugar. And sushi is a good straight protein, no or low carb meal, and the wasabi and ginger are good “warmers” and “digest-ers”. I personally am quite fond of the super fiber/protein cereal Kashi “Go Lean” in the am with Silk(soy milk). I love Paul Newman’s salt and pepper Pretzels, and the occasional tortilla chip with Salsa!!

    Shiz,

There are tons of things at Trader Joes…the soy crisps in B-B-Q are awesome. The cinnamon sugar pita chips are addicting and they have these new low carb spicy ranch chips that go great with salsa and are really low in points. If you measure out the whole bag when you first bring them home and put them in individual little baggies each serving of all of these items is only 2 pts.

So…what is up with the WW PDA thing having to be a Palm based system. I have a pocket PC and I can’t use it with the WW website…kinda messed up.
